BASTET

LOGO DESIGN | BRANDING IDENTITY

The task for this project was to make a logo and identity for an upcoming fictional café that specialized in Egyptian food and coffee. The client requested a lion to be the logo, which I then took an elegant spin on. After creating the simple, monoline mark, I then based the name of the café on the Egyptian goddess of protection and pleasure. I wanted to have the café feel warm and comforting, which is why I went with burnt oranges and blue-greens as the primary color palette.

PROCESS

Bastet was another rapid-fire project that was actually done through my internship. I had made a few different lion logos for a real client, but none of them ended up getting used. I was then encouraged to repurpose them since they had potential, and thus Bastet was born. I chose the lion that had a bit of an Egyptian sphinx feel to it and then went full force in that direction to make a comfy Egyptian café.
